Welcome to Beech Tree - Miss Humphreys

Welcome to Year 4 - Beech Tree Class.

I hope you have all had a peaceful summer and are looking forward to returning to school, we certainly can not wait to welcome you back.

On this page, you will find some useful information about the term ahead and any key messages that you need to be aware of. If you scroll to the bottom of the page, you will see our class Twitter feed and link to Google Classroom. We love to use Twitter to share some of the excellent things going on in Beech Tree Class and will use Google Classroom to support learning at home - spellings, homework and useful documents will be uploaded and made available on there.

We are set to have a great year and have some really exciting things planned and lots of new things to learn about. I'm really looking forward to meeting you and your families over the coming term and it is important that we work in partnership to ensure the very best for your children. If you have any queries or need some support, please do not hesitate speak to me at the end of the day, phone or arrange an appointment.

Miss Humphreys

In Geography this term we will be looking at the question 'What Makes the Earth Angry?'.  We will be learning about our planet's natural disasters: earthquakes and volcanoes. We will look at what happens when a natural disaster takes place and why they happen. We will also learn about how some countries have put in measures to protect themselves.

Take a look below at our class Twitter Feed!

The Flower

In English this term, we will continue to extend our knowledge of punctuation and grammar and continue to work on our reading and spelling skills. We like to link our English learning to texts and use these to inspire our writing. One of the texts we will be using this term is The Flower by John Light.

In History this term, we are looking at the enquiry question 'Who Were The Mayans?' and will focus on what life was like during this time period and their achievements. The child will explore where this time period of history fits in relation to others and look at how aspects of their lives have influenced ours today.
