Useful Documents / Information:

History

In history we have a brand new topic where we are going to be looking at how transport has changed through the ages. We will be learning about the Wright Brothers as well as how cars have changed from the very first one invented in 1886 to the modern day electric cars! (If anyone owns a classic car we would love to hear from you!)

Geography

Our Geography and Science topics tie together really nicely this term. In science we are learning all about 'amazing animals' from mammals, to fish, birds, amphibians and reptiles and in geography we are comparing hot and cold climates. This will give us a great opportunity to explore animal habitats in different climates as well as how they adapt to seasonal change.

Autumn Term:

English

In English this term, we are practising lots of our reading and writing activities. We like to link our learning in English to a book and following our transition theme of nature, the first book we have started with is called 'Leaf' by Sandra Dieckmann. It is about a polar bear who unexpectedly arrives in the woods and all the other animals fear and avoid him, thinking he is dangerous.  Then one day, they watch as he attempts to fly over the water with wings made of colourful wings, trying to get back home.

Maths

In Maths this term we will be doing lots of work on number and place value and recapping and building on our knowledge from the previous year. We use lots of practical resources in our lessons to help us with our understanding. and mental maths skills are very important too.
